If your student plans to participate in school sports next year, it's time to schedule their Pre-Participation Physical Evaluation (PPE)! The Kansas State High School Activities Association (KSHSAA) requires that all sports physicals be completed after May 1st for the upcoming school year.
Why Schedule Now?
Waiting until mid or late summer can lead to long wait times and limited availability. Scheduling early ensures your child is cleared for sports without the last-minute scramble.

Why Your Child Needs a Yearly Physical:
Early Detection of Health Issues: Many conditions, like asthma, high blood pressure, or vision problems, may not show obvious symptoms right away. A yearly check-up ensures that any concerns are caught early so they can be treated before they become bigger issues.
Tracking Growth & Development: From height and weight to puberty milestones, regular physicals help doctors track your child’s development. These visits also provide a great opportunity to discuss any questions about nutrition, sleep, or overall wellness.
Stay Up to Date on Vaccinations: Yearly check-ups help ensure your child is fully vaccinated and protected from preventable illnesses. If your child needs a booster shot or routine immunization, your provider can take care of it during the visit.
Sports & School Clearance: If your child plans to play sports, they’ll likely need a Pre-Participation Physical Evaluation (PPE). KSHSAA requires that sports physicals be completed after May 1st for the upcoming school year—so scheduling early ensures your child is cleared and ready to play. Find the required forms on our website and fill them out ahead of time to speed up your visit!
Build a Strong Doctor-Patient Relationship: A familiar doctor can make all the difference in your child’s comfort and health. Regular visits help kids feel at ease while giving parents the chance to ask questions about everything from behavior to nutrition.
